Edgewood is a lovely area in Cranston located along the western portion of Narragansett Bay and just 3 miles south of Downtown Providence. Once a summer community for Providence city dwellers, many of the homes are turn-of-the-century Victorians with big front porches on wide, tree-lined streets. Edgewood boasts a convenient location near RI Hospital, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Johnson & Wales’ Harborside campus and abutting historic Pawtuxet Village. Edgewood Yacht Club is the host club for the Edgewood Sailing School and Brown University Sailing team. Edgewood’s RI Yacht Club located on Stillhouse Cove was founded in 1875 and is the oldest yacht club on Narragansett Bay. Club offerings include racing, cruises, fishing tournaments, inter-club events and social activities.
